Two Fridays, separated by four weeks: the first, “Black Friday” when we were enticed into spending money on things; the second, Christmas Day.
Christmas reminds us that no shop can sell or “special offer” the precious gift of another’s love and life. When that gift is “taken away” well before we’d judge it to be “time” we feel “robbed”. May this special Friday be illumined by the light of happy memories of those we have loved and lost ... and, ultimately, by the light that is made manifest in the one born in Bethlehem. God bless you at Christmas. Geoffrey Clarke, The Crossing Church & Centre, Worksop.
