She said: “I have been working on my new album and it is sounding great.

“I am so pleased with how it’s all going and I can’t wait for you to hear it and to perform it live as well as some of the material you already know and love.

“I made the decision to change the dates for my tour to focus on getting the album ready.

“I know this will be an inconvenience for a lot of my fans as you were excited to see me but it’ll be a great show and worth the wait.”

Rebecca Ferguson first came to prominence on the X Factor in 2010 when she finished runner-up to Matt Cardle.

Her debut single, Nothing’s Real But Love made the top 10 on the UK charts.

That was followed by a highly successful debut album, Heaven, in 2011, which reached number three on the UK charts.

The follow-up, Freedom, in 2013, also made the UK top 10, reaching number six.
