Murder mystery night to be held in Whitwell

WHITWELL Players are eagerly anticipating taking to the stage in a 1960s themed murder mystery night.

The production is set around a nightclub, owned by notorious villains The Krazy Twins, in the hazy glow of London’s underground scene.

Crime and violence is common place and the twins are no strangers to the wrong side of the law.

The music is swinging, the drinks are flowing and the people are a dancing at another night at the popular nightclub.

But, at a place where mods and rockers often come toe-to-toe, there is something more sinister in the air.

The murder of Krazy’s gang rival Jimmie Cornwall provokes scenes of chaos, but who’s got blood on their hands?

Visitors are then invited to become part of the play, as amateur sleuths.

By interviewing all the suspects, from the comfort of your own table, you, the audience, are asked to crack the case and solve the murder.

While discussing the ‘whodunnit’ guests can enjoy a tipple or two of their favourite drinks as well as experience ‘60s themed food.

There is also live music from top Beatles tribute band the Weevils and a ‘60s sing-along to keep everyone in the mood.

Fancy dress is optional for those attending the interactive production of Murder. It’s all the Kraze!

But as Donnie Krazy would say, it’s ‘expected’.

As well as music from the Weevils, the show will also feature singing sensations from the likes of Cilla Gray and Baps Winsor.

Joanna Thorpe from Whitwell Players said: “It’s a fun night with a great big sing-along at the end which is very entertaining!”

People who come will not sit through the play like a night at the theatre - they will be very much part of it.”

“It’s loosely based around the Kray brothers in London’s east end. We do a theme to encourage people to dress up and really go to town with it.”

“We’ve done them before with the Oscars and a 1940s tea party.”

“This time everyone will be able to enjoy an authentic burger and chips followed by knickerbocker glory.”

All those interested in attending the night are asked to buy their tickets now to avoid disappointment.

The Whitwell Players will also be performing a Christmas Carol towards the end of the year in the same style as their audience participation productions of the past.

Murder. It’s all the Kraze! will be performed on Saturday 26th May at Whitwell Community Centre. Tickets can be bought for just £10 for this ‘one night only’ production.

Tickets can be purchased at the venue prior to performance. Tickets can’t be purchased on the door due to catering.
