Local band The Torn dice with the ‘dragons’

Their video for the song ‘Thousand Leeches’, sees the band performing in their very own Dragon’s Den-style set up - as they pitch for a big cash investment.

Filmed at the Beckingham Willow Works, the video features The Torn (Damian Dalton-Smith on vocals, Nick Berry on lead guitar, TJ Taylor on bass guitar and Ben Mullins on drums) alongside some very special guests.

The Dragons were played by Paul McCaig, Alan Malone, Max Downes and Ali Smith - who kindly loaned her Rolls Royce.

Two models were played by Gainsborough sisters Emma and Sophie Carter.

Guitarist Nick Berry also designed,directed and edited the shoot.

“We have a strong DIY ethos in the band,” he said.

“As we already recorded and released our own music, doing our second video is an extension of that.

He continued: “Basically we turned the TV show Dragons Den into a mini B-movie, to which we’ve put the soundtrack of our own song”

TJ Taylor added: “There lots of preparation for a long shoot - which took over 30 hours.”

“Everyone had a blast making it and really threw themselves into it - quite literally because we couldn’t afford stuntmen!”

Damian Dalton-Smith said: “It was very tiring, as we were filming over five days and nights but it was such good fun.”

Ben Mullins continued: “If you’ve got a camera and a good idea then what’s stopping you?”
