Famous the world over as the frontman of The Sex Pistols, John Lydon has continued to be a powerful force in world music, always being true to himself and his ideals and never being afraid to say things as he sees them.

His devoted army of fans remain as loyal now as they ever did and the announcement of new tour dates for 2016 follow on from a highly-successful live programme last year.

Last year also saw the band release their 10th studio album, What The World Needs Now, which peaked at number 29 in the official UK album charts and picked up fantastic acclaim from both press and public.

Widely regarded as one of the most innovative and influential bands of all time, PiL’s music and vision earned them five UK top 20 singles and five UK top 20 albums.

They had two top 10 hits with Public Image in 1978 and This Is Not A Love Song in 1983.

However, probably their most well known and often played song is their 1986 hit Rise, which made number 11.

With a shifting line-up and unique sound, John Lydon guided the band from their debut album, First Issue in 1978, through to 1992’s That What Is Not.

After a 17 year hiatus, Lydon reactivated PiL in 2009 by taking them back on the road worldwide.

Lydon, Lu Edmonds, Scott Firth and Bruce Smith continue as PiL and they are the longest stable line-up in the band’s history.

They are at the O2 Academy in Sheffield on June 7 and tickets are available now at www.pilofficial.com
