Legendary rocker John Parr in Letwell

LETWELL is in for a treat when legendary 80s Worksop rocker John Parr makes a rare UK appearance at the village hall on Saturday 12th January.

After two amazing years touring the length and breadth of America, John returns to his roots with a brand-new acoustic show.

The night will feature tracks from his two new albums Letter to America and The Mission along with classic old favourites from the 80s such as St Elmo’s Fire and Naughty Naughty.

Show co-promoter Martyn Sharpe said John was looking forward to returning to Letwell - around five years after he put on a special show of film, chat and music about his career at the village hall.

“This new concert will be a stripped back and close up view of his music which you won’t get at the likes of bigger venues such as Sheffield City Hall,” he said.

John has sold more than 10 million albums, enjoyed Number 1 hits all over the world, written the music for blockbuster Hollywood movies such as Three Men and a Baby and worked with legendary figures such as Tina Turner, Bryan Adams, Meatloaf and Celine Dion.

One of the area’s brightest young singer songwriters Jack Walton will be opening the show.

Acoustic guitarist Jack, 16, who comes from Barnsley, took his first step on the road to stardom with the release of his first single Gone earlier this year.

Tickets for the show, at 8.30pm on Saturday 12th January, are priced £12 and can be bought by calling 01909 731626 or 01909 540694.
