Kismet return with spooky Christmas play

GET FREAKY this festive season as local theatre favourites Kismet return with a spooky Christmas production.

The celebrated Gainsborough-based company are back, to give us all a frightfully good Christmas.

They stormed back onto the local theatre scene with their recent production of The House of Bernarda Alba, and now they’re offering an alternative to the usual Christmas entertainment while reviving an old tradition in the process.

Taking its cue from Dickens, Kismet have created their own Christmas chiller in the form of Fear Itself - designed to bring some delicious shivers to the yuletide and provide a spooky change-of-scene to the Christmas panto.

The play is a portmanteau of three classic scary tales: M.R. James’ Casting The Runes, Edgar Allen Poe’s The Black Cat and H.G. Wells’ The Red Room.

All are interpreted in Kismet’s own original and acclaimed physical theatre style, with a few surprises thrown in for good measure.

Kismet will be bringing a unique twist by performing it in to atmospheric surroundings of the Art Studio at Gainsborough’s Queen Elizabeth’s High School.
