It’s all go for Organ Society

The second concert of their new season will feature organist Eddie Ruhier, from Huddersfield.

It will be like a homecoming for Eddie, as he has family in the area.

Originating from near Horncastle, Eddie moved to Gainsborough at a very young age where he soon started dazzling with his expertise in playing the electric organ.

His step-father them took him all over the country to perform, and at one time, he was even the resident organist at Birmingham Ice Rink.

Having become established on the circuit, he was one of only two artists playing his favourite instrument, the Hammond Organ.

Now, Eddie’s ice rink experience is well-portrayed in his style of playing, which is always bright and entertaining - which is why he’s one of the most popular organists to have played to Gainsborough Organ Society.

Eddie Ruhier will be appearing at the Weston Rooms on Thursday 27th October at 7.30pm.

Then, next month the Organ Society welcome a performance from the legendary Brian Sharp.

Brian has done just about everything that is possible in the organ world.

He has toured the world on many occasions and worked as an ambassador and demonstrator for all the world’s leading manufacturers of organs.

Manyo ther organists have tried to copy him but no one has ever reached the standard and style of his performances - he has been labelled ‘a true genius.’

Brian Sharp will be appearing at the Weston Rooms on Sunday 13th November at 2.30pm.
