At the June meeting of Worksop WI, members were treated to a fascinating and informative afternoon learning about bee keeping. WI member, Arlene Bull and her husband Pete brought along a colony of bees (busily working away in their hive) and various honey related items. While Pete explained the ins and outs of beekeeping, Arlene modelled the latest fashion in bee-keeping suits – very fetching. There was even the opportunity to taste the honey.

In order to raise funds for the WI there was also a plant stall and cakes for sale. (Well you do need something to go with the tea.) As usual it was a very enjoyable afternoon.

In July, we hope to find out about knickers, when our guest speaker will be Maggie Allen. If you would like to join us please pop along to Worksop Cricket, Sports and Social Club on Central Avenue at 1.45pm on Thursday, July 7. You will be made most welcome.
