Lisa Gee, director of the estate’s Harley Foundation, said: “When we first started a winter arts market almost 20 years ago, we had no idea how popular the event would become.“It’s enormously cheering to know that so many people care about seeking out gifts designed and made by a small, local producer — be they a baker or a jeweller.”Artists, craftspeople, and fine food producers travelled from all over the region to show off their work, ranging from ceramics, textiles and jewellery to handmade guitars, fine art and toys.Visitors also took the opportunity to meet the artists and business owners who work all year round on the estate, to get a glimpse into their processes. For details of all the events coming up at the estate this Christmas, go to www.welbeck.co.uk/news.
