Bill Bailey to open venue

ONE of Britain’s most famous comedians, Bill, Bailey is lined up to open a new venue in the neighbouring town of Scunthorpe.

Following a sell out West End run, comic and musician Bill Bailey is to bring his live show Dandelion Mind to The Baths Hall on 11th November, in what will be the opening event for the brand new venue.

Featuring Bill’s trademark musical interludes, observations and stories of the road, Dandelion Mind will be based loosely on the theme of doubt (or will it?) as we follow Bill from his real-life saga of being trapped by the ash cloud to his barely contained rants about celebrity, TV, creationism and Michael Winner.

He will demonstrate new instruments, both ancient and modern, sing an internet love song, a lament about punk heroes, Iranian hip-hop and plays a mean folk-bouzouki.

General Manager with SMG Europe at The Baths Hall, Dan Harris said: “We are ridiculously excited about welcoming Bill to The Baths Hall.”

“His show, Dandelion Mind, has taken the UK, or rather the globe, by storm, and it is a privilege to have him come to Scunthorpe and play the opening night at this wonderful new venue.”

Other events in the opening season at the new venue include Peppa Pig, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Annie The Musical, Kate Rusby and the Circus of Horrors.

Bill Bailey brings Dandelion Mind to The Baths Hall in Scunthorpe on Friday 11th November.

Tickets are £29.50 and are available online at www.scunthorpetheatres.co.uk, by telephone on 0844 854 2776 or in person from The Plowright Theatre Box Office.
