Worksop’s Got Talent winner Richard Harvey has audience ‘in tears’ singing outside Bassetlaw Hospital

Richard Harvey, 34, stunned a tearful audience outside the A&E department with the ‘emotional’ performance last week - during the final clap for the NHS.

A video shot at the scene showed a silent crowd of doctors, nurses, police officers and members of the public listening awe-struck as the talented crooner belted out the classic songs.

Dad-of-three Richard told how the amazing renditions ‘went down well’ while another onlooker said the recitals ‘had everyone in tears’.

Worksop’s Got Talent winner Richard told how the hospital contacted him after he performed for the clap outside his home.

He said: “It was emotional - especially seeing the nurses and doctors there.

“I got a real adrenaline buzz which I’m still feeling now.”

Electrician Richard told how he only discovered his talent after singing a few lines of Nessun Dorma during karaoke on a family holiday in Rhodes in August last year.

He added: “The words to the songs are quite touching - especially Nessun Dorma because that means let no-one sleep.”

The enchanting recording has so far been viewed over 30,000 times on Bassetlaw Hospital’s Facebook page.

A spokesman for the hospital wrote: “As the clap for carers comes to an end, what a finale we have had at Bassetlaw Hospital. Thank you to Richard Harvey for entertaining our colleagues this evening and thank you to our local communities for their support.”
