Worksop fitness instructors to host four hours of fitness classes over Zoom for Women’s Aid
and live on Freeview channel 276
Experienced teachers Nicola White, Sam Bownes, Andrew Scott and Liz Morris will be putting exercise-starved householders through their paces with everything from yoga to fierce ‘body pump’ and ‘attack’ sessions via Zoom video conferencing.
Nicola, 30, who instructs at Worksop Leisure Centre, said though some of the more intense classes might leave participants in pain they were accessible to all ages and abilities.
She said: “It all depends how heavy you want to go - there’s a lot of jumping around with the attack class but it all depends how hard you push yourself.”As well as the more strenuous sessions the classes – on May 16 – will include some serene activities.
Also on offer are low-impact ‘Tabata and abs’, dance and ‘yoga flow’.
Nicola added: “Dance is a mix of different styles of dancing and yoga flow is a great strength workout – it’s a good stretch..”
To take part Nicola is asking for donations to domestic abuse helpline Women’s Aid in advance.
She said: “A lot’s being done for the NHS but there are also a lot of women out there in potentially abusive relationships during lockdown.”
The timetable for the day is as follows:
9am: Body Pump with Sam, Nicola and Liz - 45 minutes 10am: Legs, Bums and Tums with Sam and Nicola - 45 minutes 11am: Low-impact Tabata and abs with Sam and Nicola - 30 minutes 12pm: Attack with Andrew and Sam - 30 minutes 1pm: Dance with Liz - 40 minutes 2pm: Yoga Flow with Andrew - 30 minutes
Nicola is asking anyone wanting to join in to email a screenshot of their donation or confirmation email to [email protected] at least 30 minutes before the class.
They will then be sent an invite to Zoom via the email address provided.
People taking part should arrive five minutes before the session starts.
