Worksop plunged into Tier 3 lockdown: This is when it will start

With the national lockdown due to be eased, the new set of restrictions will come into play from 12.01am on Tuesday, December 2.

Last week the Government announced its ‘winter plan’, which it said would involve a tiered system like the one before the second lockdown, however confirmed that the restrictions would be tighter this time.

Today the Government’s postcode checker tool said that Nottinghamshire would be placed into Tier 3: very high alert.

In Tier 3, you must not meet socially indoors or in most outdoor places with anybody you do not live with, or who is not in your support bubble, this includes in any private garden or at most outdoor venues.

You also must not socialise in a group of more than 6 in some other outdoor public spaces, including parks, beaches, countryside accessible to the public, a public garden, grounds of a heritage site or castle, or a sports facility.

Hospitality settings, such as bars, pubs, cafes and restaurants are closed apart from to serve takeaway and collections. All accommodation and indoor entertainment venues must close.

Sports venues can stay open but indoor group classes cannot continue. People are advised not to travel outside of their local area.

The tiers will be reviewed for the first time on December 16, meaning there is potential for areas to change tier before Christmas.

This will be done according to how successful the areas have been in slowing the spread of Covid-19.

Over Christmas, the Government announced that up to three households – which also includes bubbles – can meet between December 23 and 27.

The households or bubbles can meet in private homes, outdoor public places or places of worship.

Any meeting with people outside of the three-household ‘Christmas bubble’ must be done in accordance with the new tier restrictions.
