Frontline health and care staff, volunteers and community teams are making sure all those over-70 or classed as clinically extremely vulnerable have been offered the vaccine.

Over the weekend, GP practices in the county opened their doors as part of a pop-up clinic to vaccinate people over the age of 70 or classed as clinically extremely vulnerable.

Amanda Sullivan, accountable officer for NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “The progress being made by the teams on the ground is incredible and we are grateful to them all for continuing to do such a great job.

“It’s really important those who are most vulnerable in our community receive their vaccinations to help protect them against Covid-19.

“If you are over 70 and haven’t booked please use the local booking site or call 0115 8834640 between 9am and 5pm, or call 119 to book an appointment at the Mansfield Vaccination Centre.”

Health and care teams are working together to make sure people in all communities across the city and county are getting the vaccine.

City and county council teams are now calling people not yet booked in for their vaccine to help and support them get their jab.

Ms Sullivan added: “I would urge anyone over 70 who has not yet received their vaccination to book in as soon as possible.

"There are lots of different places across the city and county to book your appointment.

"Equally if you know someone eligible for vaccination, please do help them to book in.

“In line with Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation guidance, we will now slowly start to open up the local vaccination sites to the next cohort – over-65s.

"Text messages and letters inviting those over 65 to have their vaccine will begin to go out and anyone eligible can also book via the local booking site or by calling 0115 8834640.
