Most recent data released this afternoon (January 6) from NHS England revealed that the patients died while being cared for by Sherwood Hospitals NHS Trust.

This brings Mansfield's coronavirus death toll to 306 since the pandemic hit.

The trust runs Newark Hospital, Mansfield Community Hospital and King's Mill Hospital in Sutton.

Nationwide, a further 674 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in hospital in England, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths reported in hospitals to 53,069, NHS England said in a statement.

Patients were aged between 21 and 101. All except 29, aged between 50 and 101, had known underlying health conditions.

The deaths were between November 11 and January 5.

There were 47 other deaths reported with no positive Covid-19 test result.
