Coronavirus a year on: Worksop's roads and streets emptied

Today marks the day in which the first UK lockdown was announced.

Overnight roads and streets emptied of cars and people.

Worksop town centre was like a ghost town with shops locked up and streets empty of shoppers.

A year later the town is slowly starting to get back to normal.


More than 50,000 people in Bassetlaw have been vaccinated against Covid, the infection rate is falling across the area and non-essential shops and pubs are planning for re-opening in a few weeks.

Here is a look back to those early days of lockdown.
