All Nottinghamshire recycling centres are now open again

Nottinghamshire County Council has reopened the remaining household waste and recycling centres in the county to residents, as near normal operations resume.

All sites in Nottinghamshire are now open 8am to 6pm daily, seven days a week, although some restrictions remain in place.

Sites will continue to operate on a managed one in-one out basis for vehicles and all visitors must adhere to two-metre social distancing.

From Monday, June 8, vans, trailers and pickups will be permitted on sites.The council is continuing to work closely with its waste contractor, Veolia to monitor and review the current operation, and to look at ways more materials can be accepted at the sites whilst continuing to adhere to strict social distancing.Before visiting a recycling centre residents are asked read the full guidelines here.People are reminded not to put PPE in their recycling, and throw them in the bin instead.

Anyone that has coronavirus symptoms or lives with someone who does, needs to take extra precautions before throwing away PPE.If you’re self-isolating due to suspected or confirmed coronavirus, please take the following steps:Place all contaminated waste (such as tissues) in a bag and seal securely.Place this bag in another bag and tie securely.Store the bag away from other waste and recycling for three days and then place in your general waste as normal.
