Worksop College has had 15 3D printers running over the last few weeks to produce the equipment for those working in frontline roles during the Covid-19 crisis.

The college recently donated 380 visors to St John’s Ambulance volunteers, from a volunteer unit in Worksop, who have been supporting the NHS by working in emergency departments and crewing ambulances.

Anne Robson, area manager for St John Ambulance, said: “We’re thrilled to have received this wonderful donation from the college and are extremely grateful to all involved.

“This equipment will be of great use to our volunteers as they continue to support the NHS in the fight against coronavirus.”

Dr John Price, headmaster at Worksop College, said: “We are delighted to have been able to support St John Ambulance to safely carry out the vital work they do across the country and in our community.

“It is thanks to the generous support from our alumni community that we have been able to significantly increase our production levels on a daily basis, making a huge difference to those who need them most."
