Developed in partnership with training provider Navitas, the system opens up continuing professional development opportunities covering health and safety, human resources, legal, and food safety training.

BID chief executive Sally Gillborn said: “It has been very tough on businesses over the last year – especially in the hospitality sector – and we recognise the need to better prepare employees for returning to work.

“Staff will be able to undertake relevant training, at a time to suit them, ensuring that they have the right skills for their industry and are ready to hit the ground running when the restrictions are lifted.”

There are 400 certificated courses available for various professional stages, including the widely recognised food safety training levels one to three, and a Covid control certification scheme.

Progress can be tracked on the platform and will provide credits towards employees’ continuing professional development.

Navitas chief executive Ben Gardner said: “2021 is going to be a huge year for the food health and safety industry, particularly with the introduction of Natasha’s Law in October. It’s important for businesses to be as up to date as possible.”

Courses are offered on a first-come first-served basis. To sign up or get more information, go to northnottsbid.co.uk.
