Sweet-toothed punters will find the ‘luxurious, upmarket’ ice cream for sale at a converted farm building near the pub - set out with picnic tables to allow social-distancing.

Hide AdDeborah Alton, a partner in the business, told how taste-testers said the ice cream - for sale at a ‘beautiful building decorated with chandeliers’ was ‘the best they had ever tasted’.
Though more flavours are in development those on offer so far include the ‘creamy’ Just Jersey, strawberries and cream, salted caramel, chocolate and mint chocolate chip.
Mum-of-one Deborah, 52, told how she partnered up with John Dickinson, of Manor Farm in nearby Bawtry where the milk is produced, to create a ‘really good product’.
After beginning renovations on the pub building they had planned to open in time for VE Day until the pandemic put the business on hold.

Hide AdHowever she added ‘we’re feeling optimistic about it and the feedback we’ve had so far has been really good’.
She added: “We’ve been taking taster boxes around to kids in the village and they all absolutely loved it.
“Fingers crossed this will be a fabulous thing for the area.”
Cow Shack hope to open on July 4 however they, like other hospitality businesses across the UK, are awaiting more announcements and specific guidelines from the Government regarding the date - announced by PM Boris Johnson.
