Young singers and musicians to audition for places in new Busted musical
Young performers and musicians keen to land a place in top shows this year will be aiming to impress a panel of judges.
Adjudicators are scouring the country looking for 300 entertainers to star in new musicals to be staged by Youth Musical Theatre this summer.
Auditions for 11 to 21-year- olds will be held at Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre on January 30. The three-hour audition is a group workshop where a director, a musical director and choreographer will score participants on ther acting, singing, dancing and ability to work as a team.
Successful candidates will be placed on a residential project to create a new piece of music theatre, which includes YEAR 3000 by Busted’s James Bourne and Elliot Davis, an adaptation of The Great Gatsby and women’s boxing epic Fight Like a Girl plus shows in Belfast, Plymouth and Aberdeen!
Auditions cost £40. To book a place, visit www.youthmusictheatreuk.org/auditions/sheffield-performer
