For the past 40 years, Worksop Light Operatic Society have been entertaining the people of Worksop and district with a wide variety of musical shows, concerts and pantomimes.

To mark their 40th year of performance, past and present members have got together to stage a celebration concert, which combines numbers from shows they have already performed with some from those they have yet to produce.

Entitled Musical Memories, the programme includes solos, group and ensemble numbers, which are guaranteed to thrill and entertain all ages in the audience.

Some of the items feature the up and coming younger members of the Society and others the strong group of Society dancers.

As a further way to mark their anniversary, the Society are donating a percentage of the profits from Musical Memories to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

“With over 50 singers on stage for the chorus numbers, the theatre roof is likely to be almost lifted,” said a society spokesman.
