WIN! Tickets to real ale festival

Rotherham Real Ale and Music Festival organisers have been rolling out the barrels to celebrate the launch of Baas of Steel – the 20th anniversary of the popular event.

Taking place from Wednesday 29th February to Saturday 3rd March, Baas of Steel will bring together over 230 different Real Ales specially chosen from the steel producing areas of the UK. And all money raised will go to local good causes.

And the Guardian has a pair of tickets to give away for the Wednesday or Thursday night to one lucky reader.

At a special event last week at the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice shop in Rotherham, organisers launched this year’s festival and named the charities that are set to benefit.

In 2011, the festival attracted over 10,000 visitors and helped to raise more than £35,000 to support local good causes.

This year the festival is supporting Bluebell Wood, Weston Park Cancer Hospital, The Rotherham Hospice and the Magna Trust.

Festival Organiser Steve Burns said: “We wanted to create something special to mark the twentieth anniversary of the festival and this year’s event promises to be our best yet.”

“With our largest ever selection of Real Ales, a packed entertainment line up, and the broad selection of ciders, wines, perries and foreign beers that will also be available.”

“Buying tickets ahead of the event can not only help to cut down on the time queuing to get into the venue, but it can also help to save money. We are offering a £2 discount on all tickets purchased in advance.”

“Last year was our first year at Magna and we are keen to build on the success we achieved to help make this year’s event equally memorable, and helping to support the work of local good causes.”
