WIN! Tickets to Epworth Agricultural Show

IT’S a Jubilee and Olympic year and there’s never been a better time for the Epworth and District Agricultural Show.

The celebration of country heritage, traditions and values takes place on the Epworth Show Field and is organised by the Epworth and District Agricultural Society.

Last year the show saw record numbers of visitors and was the busiest yet.

The 27th August 2012 is already shaping up to be a date to remember. And the Standard has a pair of tickets to give away to one lucky reader.

Kicking off on Bank Holiday Monday, for the 66th year the show will host the world famous Titan the Robot, as well as show-jumping, dog shows, livestock classes and trade stands.

There will also be live music, vintage cars, a horticultural tent and competitions throughout the day, as well as a heated beer tent boasting a range of real ales , ciders and live entertainment.

“Last year we were absolutely stunned at how many people attended the show and were delighted when we realised it’d broken all previous attendance records - incredible for an event that, this year, will have been running for 66 years,” said Dave Hayes, chairman of the Epworth and District Agricultural Society.

“The Jubilee and the Olympics both taking place this year guarantees the summer of 2012 to be one of huge celebrations in the UK, and we’re determined to make the Epworth and District Agricultural Show the perfect way to round off the country heritage festivities.”

The organisers are also hosting a fundraising night on Saturday 25th August with an auction, raffle, food and live music.

Tickets for show day cost £6 for adults, £4 for OAPs and under 16s, with under fives free. A family ticket (2 x adult, 2 x children) is £16. For more information visit www.epworthshow.org or call Maggie Antcliff on 07977184213.
