Win! A pair of tickets to see The Overtones

ENJOY the unique sounds of The Overtones at Sheffield City Hall next month.

The five singers are coming to the Steel City on Sunday 16th December and the Guardian has team up with promoters to offer one lucky reader a pair of tickets.

Following their acclaimed sold-out autumn tour 2011, The Overtones are currently on a new tour around the UK covering the length and breadth of the country.

The Overtones have dazzled audiences on their current tour with their flawless performance, winning charm and impeccable style.

The five singers, who have learned their craft through years of performing together, stage a pitch perfect show that is, arguably, the most entertaining and enjoyable concert of the year.

The amazing audience reaction every night also provided the band with many personal highlights including the tangible frisson of anticipation in the opening sequence, hearing a packed house sing along to their own songs, seeing the aisles of a concert hall become a dance floor, returning to the stage in Glasgow wearing kilts, and even dodging a shower of bras.

According to Entertainment Focus: “A night with The Overtones is a truly spectacular occasion…We haven’t had this much fun at a gig in ages and The Overtones proved tonight that they are one of the best live acts in the country.”

Having originally formed in 2006, The Overtones have created a unique sound, blending the essence of vocal groups of yesteryear with the best of classic, present-day British pop.

One of the biggest success stories of 2011, Mark Franks, Mike Crawshaw, Darren Everest, Timmy Matley and Lachie Chapman have seen their debut album ‘Good Ol’ Fashioned Love’ sell more than 400,000 copies with a peak chart position of number four.

The second best selling debut from a UK group this year, the platinum-certified album was reissued in October with three brand new songs that reflect The Overtones’ pop sensibility and broad contemporary appeal.

Tickets for the show on 16th December are priced from just £19.50, subject to booking fee.

They are available by visiting www.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk, on the ticket hotline on 0114 2789 789 and in person at the Sheffield City Hall box office.
