Back to the show itself... something stinks in Splodge City and it ain’t the drains.

Mad Dog McNut and his gang are running wild and Wilbur Hubbard, cowardly cook at the Fordoor Saloon, lands the job no-one wants - Sheriff of Splodge.

Luckily for Wilbur, Billie-Jo Brisket and her faithful steed Lightening roll into town to lend a hand. And suddenly the race is on to save the town.

Ye-Ha! is a rootin-tootin tale of crazy cowboys, barmy baddies, masked heroes and hidden gold.

It comes to Whitwell Community Centre, The Square, Whitwell, on 1st, 2nd and 3rd November.

Tickets are available from the community centre at £5 each on a first come, first served basis.

Whitwell Junior Players formed in April 2008 and they have been performing to the delight of audiences ever since.

Janet Astle’s dream was to set up a group to help young children enter the world of drama through weekly workshops.

To fulfil this dream, she needed someone else to work with her, so she and Amanda Beamish joined forces to get up and running.

The junior players’ first show was a short compilation of acts including singing, dancing and short plays - many of which were put together by the children themselves.

Since then, the kids have performed many more successful productions - Charles Dickens’ Oliver, several short plays by Mick Newbold and numerous Christmas shows.

They were even invited to perform at Mansfield Palace Theatre in September 2009 where they went down a storm.
