Trip down music memory lane

Dreamboats and Petticoats will be taking audiences on a trip down music’s memory lane when it comes to Sheffield’s Lyceum Theatre on Monday.

Inspired by the extraordin ary success of the multi-million selling albums, the Dreamboats and Petticoats musical promises to delight audiences with its nostalgic look back at the 1960s, an era when love was young and so was rock ‘n’ roll.

Bringing added X-Factor to the musical are Scott Bruton, series five finalist, who joins the tour direct from the West End where he wowed audiences and critics alike with his vocal talent in the role of Bobby.

Scott is joined by last year’s X Factor contestant Terry Winstanley, who plays Bobby’s older self.

The show includes hits by rock ‘n’ roll royalty Roy Orbison, The Shadows, Eddie Cochran, Billy Fury and Chuck Berry. Songs include Let’s Dance, To Know Him Is To Love Him, Shaking All Over, Bobby’s Girl, Little Town Flirt, Only Sixteen, Sleepwalk, Runaround Sue, Happy Birthday Sweet 16, What A Wonderful World, Let’s Twist Again, Let It Be Me and many more.

Tickets for Dreamboats and Petticoats are on sale now from Sheffield Theatres’ box office, priced £19 - £31. Call 0114 249 6000 or visit sheffieldtheatres.co.uk to book.

It is written by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, the team behind Goodnight Sweetheart, Birds of a Feather and Shine On Harvey Moon, and will run until 21st July.
