Heanor Musical Theatre Company will stage the hilariously spooky tale of the dysfunctional family and their creepy butler at Mansfield Palace Theatre from April 23 to 25.

Tom Clay, production manager and company secretary said: “We were excited about this new musical when it became available in 2014. We are always keen to do something ‘different’ and, with The Addams Family having just come off Broadway and available for amateur performance, it was a great opportunity.

“As the songs and score are original, taking the time to learn the content; get the vocal harmony in fine tune; the dance routines perfected and comic timing has been all part of the fun!

“A challenge for director Damon Hatton has been working on keeping the characterisation in line with what the audience expect to see, at the same time as adding those quirky, creepy and cooky elements that make the show his own.

“Damon has a difficult balancing act to achieve as not only is he directing the overall performance, he is also playing the part of Lurch; the family’s zombie butler!”

Other principal roles are played by Kim Harris (Gomez), Yvonne Taylor (Morticia), Emily Marshall-Sims (Wednesday), Brett Waller (Uncle Fester), Sheila Warhurst (Grandma), Billy Sweet (Pugsley), Paul Whitworth (Mal), Trish Church (Alice) and Andrew Buxton (Lucas).
