Talk on TV father

Elizabeth Muir-Lewis was guest speaker at this month’s Gainsborough and District Luncheon Club meeting.

Elizabeth, a singer, conductor, teacher and entrepreneur spoke about her late father, well-known journalist and BBC TV presenter Fyfe Robertson.

Her talk, Journeys Around My Father, gave listeners an insight into the private and public life of Mr Robertson who died in 1986.

He began his career at the Manchester Evening post moving on to Picture Post as night editor.

He was later given his big break by the producer of the Tonight programme, before hosting his own show Robbie.
