String quartet to perform

Local musicians Andy and Zoe Long will be bringing their unique blend of fun, flair and virtuosity to Gainsborough on Sunday.

They will be playing some of the most popular music in the repertoire as the New World Ensemble String Quartet.

They will also be telling the audience the sometimes amazing stories behind the pieces as they bring the music to life.

Andy, who is also the associate leader of Opera North, said: “We’re delighted to be playing again in Gainsborough, particularly as this will be the first concert of our Autumn Series.

“We can’t wait to share this fantastic music with our audience.”

“The feedback we have had from our last concert was terrific and goes to show that this type of music is accessible to everyone and speaks for itself.”

The programme will include Dvorak’s American quartet, Haydn’s Fifth and the beautiful Mendelssohn A major.

The New World Ensemble String Quartet will be performing at the Gainsborough Methodist Church, North Street, on Sunday 23rd September starting at 7pm.

Tickets cost £10 and are available on the door on the night.
