Spring Play Season at Chesterfield’s Pomegranate Theatre

TABS Productions and Rumpus Theatre Company will stage three plays over the coming weeks, presented by a host of performers familiar to Pomegranate audiences.

John Goodrum, director of Rumpus and an actor in the plays, said: “It’s a privilege once again to be part of the Pomegranate’s Spring Play Season, very much in this theatre’s well-established tradition of producing its own high-quality, audience-friendly drama - long may the tradition continue!”

The season launches next week with One For The Road by Willy Russell, running from Tuesday, January 20, to Saturday, January 24. A husband is determined to escape his birthday party for a carefree life on the road.

Next up will be Stage Struck by Simon Gray about a husband who plots revenge on his wife and a clumsy psychiatrist. Stage Struck runs from January 27 to 31.

Parlour Song by Jez Butterworth, an adult comedy, about a demolition expert whose possessions are being stolen, is the season finale, running from February 3 to 7.

The first two plays are staged by TABS Productions and the third by Rumpus Theatre Company. Performers include Susan Earnshaw, Susie Hawthorne, Angie Smith, Karen Henson (pictured right), Michael Sherwin, Robert Laughlin and John Goodrum.

Performances are at 7.30pm with matinees on Wednesdays at 2pm and Saturdays at 3pm. Tickets cost £17, £15 (concessions) and £13 (child).
