South Yorks: Galaxy of stars set to grace film and comic event in Sheffield

Sheffield Film & Comic Con is a new show which is set to take over the Motorpoint Arena on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st of August.

The event will bring the stars from TV, film and comics as well as a whole host of fun activities including photo shoots, panels, autograph sessions and hundreds of stalls full of TV and Film memorabilia to browse all in one place.

The event will feature Cosplay – where costumes can be displayed on stage with a chance to win prizes, a comic zone where you can meet comic writers and artists, comic creation master classes and buy that rare edition, artiste alley were amateur comic and manga artists to chill out, draw and meet other artists and the Video Game Zone, which will host both modern and retro gaming with many casual-play and full-scale tournaments throughout the day.

You can also browse hundreds of stalls selling collectable movie merchandise, costumes and toys.

There will be a large number of free guest talks and several paid-for premium guest talks over the weekend.

Stars already lined up to appear include Kristianna Locken from Terminator 3, Eve Myles from Torchwood, Dirk Benedict from Battlestar Galactica and The A-Team, Virginia Hey from Farscape and Mad Max 2, Amrita Acharia from Game of Thrones, Chris Barrie and Craig Charles from Red Dwarf, Jeremy Bulloch from Star Wars, Paul Blake from Star Wars and a whole host of Doctor Who stars including Paul McCann, Sylvester McCoy, Louise Jameson, Bonnie Langford, Sophie Aldred, Mat Irvine, John Leeson and Terry Molloy.

Also on display will be Michael Knight’s Kitt car from Knight Rider and the Van from the A-Team.

More star guest names are due to be announced over the coming weeks.
