His Sheffield date, at the Motorpoint Arena on 6th November, will also be his largest ever hometown show and his first headline show at the venue.

He will be performing at the reduced-capacity venue The Steel Hall, bringing the audience closer to the event.

He has previously appeared on the main Arena stage with Pulp, Elbow, Paul Weller and REM.

Recorded at Sheffield’s Yellow Arch Studio, Hollow Meadows is out on 11th September.

It sees Hawley return to the classic, sophisticated song-writing and subtle arrangements that made him so widely loved and revered in the first place as he meditates on such themes as ageing, fallibility and relationships.

It also features some notable guests from the UK folk scene, Martin Simpson and Nancy Kerr, plus his old friend Jarvis Cocker, and the Hick Street Chip Shop Singers, who are made up of various Sheffield luminaries, including Slow Club’s Rebecca Taylor.
