Prisoners is a provocative thriller about a father who takes justice into his own hands.
Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman)and his teenage son head to the their neighbours for Thanksgiving lunch, and soon after, Anna and the Birch’s girl, Eliza, disappear.
They remember a suspicious RV parked in the road and detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) arresst the driver, Alex Jones (Paul Dano), who has a mental age of 10. But with no evidence they’re forced to release him. So Keller kidnaps Alex and holds him hostage.
Jackman is mesmerising as a dad willing to ignore his moral compass to reunite his family. Gyllenhaal invests his rebellious cop with an array of ticks that hint at rage bubbling beneath the surface, while Dano is pathetic and creepy.
