Notts: Eastenders star Charlie Brooks leads the cast for Beautiful Thing at Nottingham Playhouse

Best known as Janine Butcher in the BBC1 soap, Charlie takes the role Sandra in Jonathan Harvey’s modern comedy classic that comes to Nottingham direct from a sell-out West End run.

Joining Charlie in the cast are Thomas Law (Eastenders, The World’s End) as Ste, Sam Jackson (Skins, Kes) as Jamie, Gerard McCarthy as Tony and Vanessa Babiyre as Leah.

Beautiful Thing is an urban teenage love story between two young men set on an inner city housing estate.

It tells the story of Jamie’s relationship with classmate and neighbour, Ste.

Together the two boys find comedy, warmth and the music of Mama Cass through their neighbour Leah.

The play runs from next Tuesday (21st April) until 9th May.
