Lions concert this weekend

Worksop Lions Club presents the Band Concert on Saturday 13th October in support of Help for Heroes and Worksop Lions Charities.

The concert, held at North Notts Arena, on Eastgate, is back by popular demand said club president Bill Maddison.

“People can look forward to a varied show from the Doncaster Band and the The Notts Band of the Royal Engineers (Volunteers),” he said.

“Towards the end of the concert the tunes will include plenty of sing-alongs like Land of Hope and Glory which everyone can join in with.”

“It is quite a special occasion because it is the only time the two bands play together.”

“And it makes for a very rousing occasion.”

Doncaster Concert Band had their debut concert back in 1994 and have since developed into a successful group of talented musicians performing regularly at both indoor and outdoor events.

With years of experience from both bands, you’ll be tapping along to the music of the brass bands and staring in awe at the fantastic conductors.

Bill said: “Everybody always says how much they enjoy it. It is much more than just a brass band show, these are concert bands and the sound is incredibly powerful.”
