And they will be at the Baths Hall in Scunthorpe on Friday night (12th June).

Paul and his chums – Mike McShane, Lee Simpson, Richard Vranch and Suki Webster – are wonders of nature.

They take audience suggestions and create cascades of fantastic tumbling laughter – most of the time.

Every show is a new adventure.

Paul Merton is a founder member of The Comedy Store Players and he still appears at the Comedy Store most Sundays.

He is a regular guest on Radio 4’s Just A Minute and is an established face on TV shows such as the hugely popular Have I Got News For You, Room 101, Paul Merton Looks at Alfred Hitchcock, Paul Merton’s Birth of Hollywood and his travel series for Channel Five, Paul Merton’s Adventures which covered his travels in India, China and Europe.

His recent autobiography, Only When I Laugh reached the Sunday Times bestseller Top 10.

Mike McShane is best known as one of the regulars on Whose Line Is It Anyway? on Channel 4 on Friday nights in the 1990s when the show was hosted by Clive Anderson and also featured regular appearances by the likes of Paul Merton, Greg Proops, Tony Slattery, Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie and Josie Lawrence, along with ‘the assistance of Richard Vranch at the piano’.

Mike has squandered his life by improvising with his friends and making friends by improvising.

He has appeared at the Menier Chocolate Factory in Little Shop of Horrors and Assassins.

He was also Friar Tuck ion the hit Kevin Costner movie Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

Lee Simpson became a member of the Comedy Store Players in 1989.

He is artistic director of Improbable theatre company and along with Richard Vranch he wrote and performed on Paul Merton – The Tour and Paul Merton – The Palladium.

He also directed Paul Merton – And This is Me.

Richard Vranch improvises and writes comed and does voiceovers for adverts and documentaries.

Dr Vranch has appeared on Radio 4’s Infinite Monkey Cage with Professor Brian Cox, and he is half of the science and hula-hoop act Dr Hula.

He’s toured the world from Mexico to Palestine acting in sketch shows, and he does stand-up in French.

Suki Webster is a regular guest of The Comedy Store Players and has toured the world with Paul Merton and his Impro Chums.

More recently she co-wrote and was assistant director on Paul Merton’s Birth of Hollywood.

Suki’s play, My Obsession, which she wrote and starred in garnered audience and critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Festival in 2014.

The show at the Baths Hall starts at 8pm and tickets priced £21 are available now on 0844 8542776 or visit www.scunthorpetheatres.co.uk
