With more than 80 years in the Test Match Special (TMS)commentary box between them and tours all over the world covering the England cricket team, Blowers and Baxter certainly have some tales to tell.

And they will be telling a whole range of them when they bring Rogues on the Road to Lincoln’s Theatre Royal in October.

Described as a show that is ‘not so much about cricket as what happens in the commentary box and beyond’, Rogues on the Road is a brand new show crammed full of even more wonderful (and occasionally outrageous) reminiscences and anecdotes from two extensive careers spent broadcasting around the globe in search of sporting excellence.

The fun, the games and outlandish characters – from Ian Fleming to Noel Coward – spread well beyond the confines of any cricket ground or studio.

This years sees the pair present a completely fresh set of hilarious stories, after three years of playing to packed houses across the UK, including two successful seasons at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, earning rave reviews and captivating audiences of all ages.

The success of their shows proves that you don’t have to be a cricket fan to love hearing a good story being told by two great storytellers.

Henry ‘my dear old thing’ Blofeld is one of Britain’s most loved and recognisable broadcasters.

As well as his TMS duties, in 2014 he also appeared on ITV’s The Chase and BBC’s Room 101.

He continues to delight an army of TMS fans with his observations and opinions that are just as fascinating to hear as the cricket itself with his particular penchant for talking about pigeons flying past the commentary box window, buses going past the ground outside and the cakes he and his fellow commentators like Jonathan Agnew and Geoffrey Boycott regularly get sent by listeners.

Peter Baxter was in charge of Test Match Special as its producer for 34 years – a schoolmaster trying to keep some very errant students in line.

Between them they’ve seen plenty of shenanigans across the years and across the globe, so come ready to be shocked and entertained by good men behaving badly.

Rogues on the Road is at the Theatre Royal on 14th October at 7.30pm.

Tickets priced £18.50 are available now from the Box Office on 01522 519999 or online at
