Letwell: Young folk band returns to village

One of the country’s finest young folk bands are making a return appearance to Letwell after a hectic two years which has seen them headlining festivals across Europe.

Seven-piece band The Old Dance School took their name from the old Betty Fox School of Ballet in Birmingham - which was the scene of their first tentaive jam sessions back in 2006.

They return to the stage at Letwell Village Hall on Wednesday, 6th November, fresh from a succesful summer tour of Norway, Sweden and Italy.

The band are renowned for their duelling fiddles, soaring brass crescendos and irresistible vocal harmonies.

Their latest album, Chasing The Light, has been met with terrific reviews confirming the band’s place at the forefront of the booming folk scene in Britain today.
