Kismet company take to Lincoln Drill stage

KISMET Theatre Company have been taking the local scene by storm since their re-launch last year.

But their latest production sees them take a backwards step - if only to return to their roots with a revival of their multi award-winning production of hugely entertaining comedy Blue Remembered Hills.

Set in 1943, the story focuses on a group of seven-year-old children as they play and fight through one day in the long summer holidays in the Forest Of Dean.

But a shocking incident changes their lives forever…

Celebrated playwright Dennis Potter famously insisted his child characters be played by adults, to highlight the physical and verbal idiosyncrasies of childhood, creating a bittersweet, comedy of childhood which will appeal to all ages, and which has rightly become a modern classic.

Kismet’s reputation has led to an invitation to tour this production further afield than previous shows, including two firsts for this ambitious theatre group.

The production kicks off in Gainsborough on Thursday 10th May, 8.00pm at Queen Elizabeth’s High School Art Studio.

Then the company will debut on the main stage at Lincoln Drill Hall on Friday 11th May at 8.00pm.

Finally the company will be the very first theatre group to perform at the newly refurbished Old Willow Works in Beckingham on Saturday 12th May at 2.30pm and 8.00pm.

Tickets for Blue Remembered Hills are £8.00 (£6.00 concessions). Tickets for the Gainsborough and Beckingham performances are strictly limited because of venue size and should be booked in advance on 01427 667823.

Tickets for the Drill Hall performance are on sale at the Box Office on 01522 873894.
