Kids make Play in a Week

Young People from Gainsborough devised their own performance depicting The Twelve Labours of Hercules as part of a family fun day at Trinity Arts Centre.

The performance came after a week long summer theatre school run by Shooting Fish Youth Theatre called Play in a Week.

“I was so proud of their performance. It isn’t easy to perform outside and combat the noises and distractions but the children did an incredible job,” said Laura Kavanagh who runs the youth theatre.

“Parents told me how much the children enjoyed Play in a Week and were asking when the next project was.”

After the performance, a family fun day was held for Gainsborough people to celebrate the Olympics.

Lots of people attended and took part in sports, drama and art activities.

“The day went so fast it was over before we knew it and everyone seemed to enjoy it,” said Laura.

“Shooting Fish plan to hold many more activities at Trinity Arts Centre in the near future, so look out for those.”
