The Grammy nominated singer-songwriter, best known for his 80s classic St. Elmo’s Fire, will chart the rise of his career from the early days in Worksop and Doncaster to appearances at Madison Square Gardens and beyond with an evening of film, talk and music.

Back from two years playing all over America, John was lured to Westwoodside by lifelong friend Phil Callaghan, who lives in the village.

“I’ve been busy in the studio at home working on lots of new material, but Phil has wanted me to play Westwoodside for a long time now so I’m pleased that it’s going to happen at last,” said John.

“I love appearing at venues like this where you’re really up close to the audience. It’s a lot more intimate than playing some vast arena.”

“I really want to see Westwoodside rocking, but I’m sure it’s going to be a great night whatever happens,” he added.

Tickets for the show on Saturday 20th July are on sale now priced at £10, and are available from 01427 752766.

With seating limited at the village hall people are urged to book as soon as possible.
