Skinner, nicknamed the Beast of Bolsover, is the guest of honour at an event called Stand Up for Gainsborough at the Blues Club on North Street next Thursday (19th February).
He will talk about his life from working as a miner in Derbyshire to being an outspoken MP, famous for his one-liners and devastating put downs in the House of Commons.
He’ll be supported by his long-time friend and former flatmate for 30 years, John Prescott and two comedians, Alfie Moore and Wil Hodgson.
The event will be hosted by Gainsborough’s Labour Prospective Parliamentary Candidate David Prescott, who said: “I’m honoured that Dennis has agreed to come along to Stand Up For Gainsborough.”
