National Theatre streams Treasure Island into homes

A production of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic Treasure Island by the National Theatre will be streamed to homes across the world.

The story of murder, money and mutiny screens on the National Theatre’s YouTube channel on Thursday, April 16, at 7pm.

t’s a dark, stormy night. The stars are out. Jim, the innkeeper’s granddaughter, opens the door to a terrifying stranger. At the old sailor’s feet sits a huge sea-chest, full of secrets. Jim invites him in – and her dangerous voyage begins.

Treasure Island is part of the National Theatre at Home series on YouTube that is entertaining audiences around the world during coronavirus lockdown.

Every Thursday at 7pm audiences can watch a production from the company for free. The show will be then be available on demand for seven days.

Twelfth Night, featuring Tamsin Greig, will be shown on April 23.
