NOTTINGHAM Royal Concert Hall: Rufus Wainwright & His Band. Show time to be confirmed. Affectionately referred to by Elton John as ‘the greatest songwriter on the planet’ and praised by the New York Times for his ‘genuine originality’, Grammy nominee Rufus Wainwright has established himself as one of the great male vocalists and songwriters of his generation. Don’t miss him as he returns to the Royal Concert Hall for one night only to perform from his back catalogue and from his seventh and latest studio album, Out of the Game. WORKSOP Acorn Theatre: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Runs Thursday 15th – Saturday 17th November. Show time 7.30pm. The Dukeries Theatre Group will be showcasing their version the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Tennessee Williams. It tells the story of Brick and Maggie, a couple who are struggling to keep their marriage on track. The action takes place on one evening on Brick’s family estate in Mississippi, where everyone is eagerly celebrating the birthday of Big Daddy Pollitt - who has come home from the clinic with a clean bill of health.
