Enjoy lunch time church concerts

LUNCH TIME just got a lot more relaxing for people in Gainsborough.

All Saints’ Parish Church is set to launch its summer season of lunch time concerts on Tuesday 24th July.

Every Tuesday throughout July and August, visitors can enjoy live classical music free of charge.

The concerts were introduced in 1992 to bring live music to visitors and local people who are in town for work or shopping on a market day.

The concerts have developed into an annual series - this year being the 21st.

Each concert is at 1.05pm. The first, on Tuesday 24th July is entitled Silver Wood - music for flute and strings.

Tuesday 31st July sees Jonathan Rider on flute and James Fox on piano. Pianist Stephen Hopwood plays on 7th August, and Michael Overbury on harpsichord on 14th August.

The final concerts on 21st and 28th August welcome Charles Edmondson on organ and piano, and The Katarine Duo performing music for flute and classical guitar.
