The band, fronted by charismatic singer Justin Hawkins, will be playing Scunthorpe on Friday 29th November - and there are still some tickets left for the show.

The Scunthorpe date is part of the band’s full UK tour and comes just a few weeks after The Levellers and Enter Shikari both packed The Baths Hall.

The Darkness shot to fame with the release of their debut album Permission To Land back in 2003.

The singles I Believe In A Thing Called Love, Growing On Me, Get Your Hands Off My Woman and Love Is Only A Feeling all featured heavily in the charts.

The album, which went to number one in the UK charts and stayed there for four week, sold well over a million copies in the UK alone.

It also scooped the band three Brit Awards for Best British Group, Best British Rock Act and Best British Album.

They also won two Kerrang! awards in 2004, being crowned Best Live Act and Best British Band.

The band released their second album One Way Ticket To Hell And Back was released in 2005, which has since gone platinum.

After releasing the Christmas hit Don’t Let The Bells End – which is still given heavy rotation 10 years on – the band went on hiatus in 2006 but reformed in 2011.

Last year they supported Lady Gaga on her European arena tour and released a new album called Hot Cakes in August.

And things are going se well that frontman Justin Hawkins has said the band are already working on new material for the follow-up to Hot Cakes, and are even aiming for a 2014 release date.
