Chatsworth hosts open-air production of Twelfth Night

The production on Wednesday, August 12 will be performed in the open air by an all male cast wearing full Elizabethan costume.

Chatsworth will provide the perfect backdrop to this authentic play full of traditional music and dance.

Twelfth Night is a joyous tale of love, longing and laughter and mischief, mayhem and mistaken identity, set in fair Illyria.

With identical twins separated by shipwreck, a cross-dressing heroine and everyone in search of love, Twelfth Night is one of the most famous and tangled love stories in literature.

Throw in the pompous steward Malvolio, two drunken lords, a grouchy fool and a practical joke that goes much too far and the stage is set for hilarity and chaos to reign!

Could true love blossom amongst this madness? Will the twins be reunited? Can a man really look good in yellow stockings?

If a shipwreck, cross-dressing heroine and an endless search for love wasn’t enough, guests can also head over to Flora’s Temple for tea, coffee, snacks and ice cream or enjoy a hog roast and glass of champagne at the bar.

What better way to spend a glorious summer’s evening?

The gates open at 6.30pm and Twelfth Night starts at 7.30pm.
