Chair design exhibition at Chatsworth

Contemporary art, design and collecting have always been intrinsic to Chatsworth.

Continuing this tradition, the home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire will showcase the best in contemporary chair design with its headline exhibition, Make Yourself Comfortable at Chatsworth, running from 28 March to 23 October 2015.

The chairs, situated throughout the house, will encourage visitors to engage with Chatsworth and the existing collections in a new and exciting way.

Items from the private collection of the Duke and Duchess will be showcased alongside furniture by internationally acclaimed designers – from Thomas Heatherwick and Amanda Levete, to Marc Newson, Tokujin Yoshioka, Piet Hein Eek and Moritz Waldemeyer.

The exhibition will also display commissioned pieces including Raw Edges’ End Grain seating which will become part of the SculptureGallery, and Counterpart by Tom Price which will be on display in the Chapel.
